Fat Freddy's Drop return to the stage in 2026 with a 51-show tour across Australia, Aotearoa, Europe, and the UK. The legendary New Zealand band will perform their debut album «Based On A True Story» live, marking their first performances since the death of founding member Chris «MU» Faiumu. The band continues with the long-planned tour to honour their shared vision.

Released independently in 2005, «Based On A True Story» became Aotearoa's longest-charting album, spending 111 weeks in the Top 40. The album of futuristic funk earned eight New Zealand Music Awards and recognition at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Music Awards. Its success launched an extraordinary journey for the band and their devoted international fanbase.
